SACRED FOUNTAIN
by Byron Lord

Long
sacred fountain
pulsing white rivers
pouring
into you
Hot
Wild and foaming
riding, churning
over the falls
eyes wide
we slide
into this hot sea.

TIRED MOON

The wind is caused by lovers
beating the night apart

caressing the moon
with their tongue.

The moon
moves through water
lovers drink its light.

Stars are the shattered laugh of lovers
the milkyway of their wind-tossed hair,

and in mid-dance
the moon
falls from their arms in exhaustion.
