December 2007 Edition

Here we are, the end of the holiday chain. It’s December 2007, and we’re up to
Christmas time.

This month we’re going to begin a two month review on the newest line of hentai
print to be reviewed here. Featuring long spoken of and now finally reviewed Last
Gasp of San Francisco (continues next month in the January 2008 opening review of
the year).

Last Gasp of San Francisco is, in essence, the only real rival to NBM‘s
Amerotica/Eurotica line, right down to the print “size“ of the books as a matter of fact
(if it weren‘t for the fact that Last Gasp is an entirely different entity than the
Amerotica/Eurotica line you‘d think they were all released from the same publisher).
You’d think that eventually these companies would learn of the smaller print size
(even Radio Comix’ print size for their graphic novels is surprisingly compact in
comparison to the releases of Amerotica/Eurotica and Last Gasp of San Francisco.
And, oddly enough, despite the name they are not as gay/lesbian themed titles as I
thought.

I mean, really, if the company is called “Last Gasp of San Francisco” is it too much of a
leap of faith to expect at least a healthy supply of gay/lesbian title content?!?
However, as it turns out, it’s a lot of straight erotica with a splattering of gay and, well,
if there’s lesbian content I am either missing it or it’s in a format I am not touching
(though as time goes on I’ll dig through their line-up until I find their version of
Adventures of a Lesbian College School Girl or Pillow Fight (both from Amerotica)).
However this month we are not browsing just any old genre from San Fran, oh no.
This month we’re focused on a theme that is actually right up this month’s lane. Yes.
Yes we are.

Anyway i’s December, and that means it’s Christmas. And once again ye olde culture
hatemonger conservative homophobe Bill O’Reilly has once again declared that tis’
the season for another year of his make believe fantasy “War on Christmas”. And that
is all that I will say about O’Reilly’s make believe war since he is more than capable of
babbling about it himself without me helping him.

Anyway in “honor” of his mythical war I bring you two hentais from Last Gasp of San
Francisco that does something you don’t see very much in hentai… it is, if this can be
believed, two titles with sex inside that is based upon… believe it or not… the Bible!
Yes, that Bible! The Bible.

But first… how about an old EROS title set in Ancient times to browse over?

Harem Nights
3 Harem Girls Gone Wild DVDs out of 5
When it comes to erotica set in the Ancient World? Well… I can only think of a dozen
or so titles spread about the whole of the field. A little Hentai Anime and Manga here,
Amerotica or perhaps Eurotica there, some prose online or in book format. Not much
overall to speak of.

Obviously the whole genre is not the easiest to collect from, though if you are
fascinated by sex in the Ancient World you do have abit to spend your money on here
or there, including Harem Nights (this 1994 EROS Comix title which may or may not
have a Graphic Novel you can pick up).

The story focuses on this former harem girl with this really big Christian belief system.
However despite the fact she seems quite bitter about her former life as a harem sex
slave (going right to the point of being a part of the death of her former master which
set up a political upheaval with an evil Prince of Persia Vizier type guy grabbing
power) she will not stop using sex as a means to an end.

So she manages to sex her way out of town and away… that is until she’s captured
and brought back to the Vizier guy who uses dark magic to have sex with her for
some nefarious scheme or whatever. Yeah, right, he just wanted to do her (who hasn’
t in this title). Don’t ask me why he has to use dark magic to have sex with her, when
everyone else just seemed to get it from her with far less muss and fuss, the point is
while she was traveling away from the Vizier guy her “companion” she was with really
got hooked on her (Issue #3 is all about their bonding and whatever sex he gets with
her) and goes back to save her.

I don’t think this is going to have a happy ending, what do you think?

Now despite the fact I gave it a 3 out of 5 (you’ll see just how potent sex in this
environment can be once we roll over to Riverstone and his two Biblically inspired
titles) I still recommend it. It’s not as strong visually as either Thamara & Juda or
Judith & Holospernes but it is well paced and has just enough sex (with a larger dose
of plot and story) to fit well in your collection.

The plot is a little weak (apparently she’s hunted because they think she’s pregnant
with the old ruler’s child, but could that really be the reason?), and she seemed to
complain abit between sex scenes (she complains YET she does it, while the next two
heroines you’ll see are not afraid to go the Full Monty to survive (and overcome the
odds). Maybe it’s her belief system, but it makes her a wee bit whiney. That and the
title won’t give you a happy ending no matter how hard you want it (pun intended).
Overall it’s a recommended read, but not perfect. 3 Refresher courses in Harem
Etiquette 101 out of 5 resistances to mention the “Night in a Moorish Harem” series.
And now… Last Gasp (gasp!) of San Francisco

Thamara & Juda and Judith & Holosperenes takes two bits of the bibles and adults
them up into a more sexual experience… not to mention a greater adult erotica
experience as you combine beautiful artwork (both in the normal art and the highly
erotic art, with a fine detail on just how beautifully delicious all the women of the
Ancient World seem to be). Add to that writing that is of a higher order than you might
have expected from an erotica, and an overall well made package? It’s no wonder
why these titles got the score they did. You may or may not completely like these, but
they are worthy of your attention if you are building a quality hentai collection of your
very own.

Thamara & Juda
4 Abducted Brides out of 5
First off, sadly, note all the titles are female/male pairings. Yeah, Riverstone didn’t
want to do “The Greatest Lesbian Bible Story Ever Told”… damn you!
But what Riverstone does is done well, and despite the fact both books offer up more
than a fair share of rape and male domination you also find that both titles feature
very strong women capable of taking control of their male dominators (and turning
the tables on them where it counts, in the sex dept.)
First off let’s take in the story of Thamara & Juda, inspired from Bible verse Genesis
38.

Thamara is being given off as a bride… (cough cough sex partner cough) to this guy,
and she can’t help but show him the goods he’s going to be getting once they’re
married (and oh does she show). Thing is however his son is a brutal bastard who
kidnaps her (after much violence) and makes her his sex slave (along with the rest of
the naked women he’s keeping as sex slaves). After much forced sex and beatings
she somehow gets the upper hand over him and manages to return home.
There you find out she has this thing for this other guy, well she visits him and one
thing leads to another and then you see this really original scene (and this time I’m
not being sarcastic) where she offers to help him get off by masturbating him with her
inner thighs (dick slid up between her legs but not up her womanhood) before they
go all the way… considering she already did that a few times in this book what’s her
damage now.

Like Harem Nights don’t expect a happy ending between these two. Things will not go
well.

Beautifully drawn, with women that are amongst the most finely drawn in this art form
(Riverstone drew both titles in this grand visual style that you rarely see in erotica
titles short of Manara and a few other of the high class artistic hentai types). Also the
women in Riverstone’s two titles are not weak. Scenes of rape and sexual
enslavement are a part of both books, but the female leads are not weak mewling
female stereotypes that languish in their sexual hell whining about their situation
while being raped multiple times. They use all their abilities including their brains and
bodies to survive their situations, and overcome. This is a step above the standard
cookie cutter domination over female titles that are out there, but then again it does
draw from a biblical source and isn’t the bible supposed to have strong women?
Thing is it’s recommended, but it’s not perfect.

Mostly I think both of these titles were drawn with a male audience in mind (as a lot of
it does seem to appeal more to a male-centric audience as lots of women are paraded
about in the nude, women are treated as property, and sex is sufficient but in a rough
male dominated way at times), but if you are a female reader and making a collection
of Ancient World setting erotica? Then you should definitely add these two titles to
your collection as they are made for such a set.
4 unique ways to draw out an orgasm out of 5.

Judith & Holospernes
4 Penises of Mass Destruction (PMDs) out of 5 UN PMD Inspectors
Yeah. Dig deep enough into obscure text (or just find one good book about
extraordinary male penises) and you’ll find that there are documented record of
males who were “well hung”. Evil “Ancient Axis of Evil” guy Holospernes just so
happens to be one of those men packing a lethal “PMD” between his legs (and a
large army of thugs to follow his command). Sent to speak to him from her hometown
under imminent siege is Judith (with her blonde bombshell servant in tow), and she’s
come to speak to Holospernes about spreading her legs and fucking her… say what?
Well yeah, apparently this isn’t a diplomatic mission as much as it to give Holospernes
two pussies to plow into. Two very powerful well trained pussies it seems as he finds
himself surprised by their unwillingness to die during sex. Yeah. Apparently he is not
happy with the local female population because they seem to have this nasty habit of
dying during sex, apparently he’s too big (and they’re not the accommodating sorts in
terms of mega large penises in their womanhoods… go figure).

Enter Judith who first seems to be a sex offering, but soon has herself straddled
right on Holopernes dick riding him (and getting a good grip on him) like a horse.
Apparently who needs an army when Judith here can slowly but surely bend his will to
her’s in the sex dept., and thus overpower him where he sleeps (really!). Proving she’
s not just there to fill space, and provide a girl on mule sex reference, Judith’s
servant seduces one of Holopernes made men, which proves to be helpful near the
end.

That’s about it. Don’t need to tell you much more about the story. So how does it
break down?

Beautifully drawn, with women that are amongst the most finely drawn in this art form
(Riverstone drew both titles in this grand visual style that you rarely see in erotica
titles short of Manara and a few other of the high class artistic hentai types). Also the
women in Riverstone’s two titles are not weak. Scenes of rape and sexual
enslavement are a part of both books (though in this book one scene of rape does
seem abit… confusing… as they try to stick it into a short short scene that doesn‘t
translate very well as you are trying to play “Where‘s Waldo“ with the situation -- I
dare you to find the girl being raped by the mule in the scene, I dare you!), but the
female leads are not weak mewling female stereotypes that languish in their sexual
hell whining about their situation while being raped multiple times (yeah, that‘s why
crap like Sin Sorority got a 2 out of 5 -- besides the fact it‘s supposed to be Lesbian
Erotica that really wasn‘t). They use all their abilities including their brains and bodies
to survive their situations, and overcome. Judith in particular, as she starts out
giving herself freely to Holopernes but soon is going to him and having him yearn for
her… of course, once again don’t expect a completely happy ending in this one (that
seems to be a running theme in this month’s reviews).

Overall this is a step above the standard cookie cutter domination over female titles
that are out there, but then again it does draw from a biblical source and isn’t the
bible supposed to have strong women?

Thing is it’s recommended, but it’s not perfect.
Mostly I think both of these titles were drawn with a male audience in mind (as a lot of

male dominated way at times), but if you are a female reader and making a collection
of Ancient World setting erotica? Then you should definitely add these two titles to
your collection as they are made for such a set.

Then there is the fact that this title has abit more affection than Thamara & Juda, and
then (for you ladies) we present Holospernes and his big ole gigantic penis. Yes, for
you ladies sick of the mega breasts franchise here’s the rarely seen mega penis
franchise. Enjoy.

Judith & Holospernes racks up 4 poster boys for the rarely seen mega penis
franchise out of 5.

And that’s that. I want to thank you all once again for coming by and reading my
monthly article for another glorious year of reviews. So I’ll leave you for now and we’ll
see you again at the start of the brand new year. So until then Merry Christmas and
Happy New Year to all, and to all a Get Off My Lawn O’Reilly (you and your wee little
thug-alug-lugs)!
