(sonnet 2) Karuṇā

by Ron Riekki

I doze into your eyes, yes, so

relaxed that I good-boy your

everything, pet-pet-pet, steady

love like lightninged ecstasy,

caught in her, captured, so

good, her all, her dear all,

her mastering of ASMR as

if it’s only talking, but it’s

so much more: talqueen?

Her thou, her click-bliss, her

altar, hurling kindness, breeze-

river, and, again, I keep

focusing on this, but that

voice, lingering like lingerie.

Ron Riekki's latest book is My Ancestors are Reindeer Herders and I Am Melting in Extinction (Apprentice House Press). Right now, Riekki's listening to Alice et Moi's "C'est toi qu'elle préfère."
