choose your fruit wiselythe pomegranate is ripe, ready, almostbursting at his burgundyseams
slice him carefully (and without mercy)
watch him open for you wet, glistening, nakedtoday, you are the firstto have seen his rubies
take him by the edges and bend him by the spine until the seed is splitfrom the sides, mounds of seedglowing from inside
bring your mouth to him (the first bite is the most important one) sink your teeth in andwhen you do,
be thorough. suck at every seed until all of his sweetness is in your mouth then suck some more. let him stain your tongue and his wetness linger: a faint red glow behind your cheeka single drop of blood on the hand you used to break him open. like him, you now contain precious seed
let him take his turn
