The Invitation

When I get to Vika’s apartment block, the golden dusk of Thanksgiving is still visible. The corridor fills with the smell of rain, fresh laundry, and the delicious promise of roasted turkey and spiced pies coming from inside the rooms. As I reach for the knock my phone vibrates in my hand.
Vika: “You’re here, right?”
A smile pulls at my lips.
Me: “I’m outside your door.”
A moment later, the lock clicks, and Vika opens the door slowly and carefully, her eyes shining with a playful hunger that suggests she's about to do something mischievous.
“Finally,” she says, her voice as warm as mulled wine, “I was beginning to fear that you’d make me wait all night.”
Vika looks radiant. Her straight, shoulder-length brown hair frames her face, catching the last traces of golden light. A soft gleam dances across her glasses, drawing me toward her kind, expressive eyes. Small earrings shimmer whenever she moves, while a delicate gold necklace rests against her bare skin.
Tonight she wears a black cropped camisole and tight blue jeans, a simple outfit that hugs her in all the right places. Effortless, confident, and dangerously tempting. Her smile warms the apartment more than any Thanksgiving oven ever could.
I walk in—my heart pounds.
“You look delicious,” I say.
Vika’s laugh brushes gently against my skin. “Is that really the first thing you say?”
“I had a whole speech ready,” I confess.
Vika leans into the doorway, eyes sparkling. “Let’s hear it.”
I shake my head and smile. “You messed it up.”
“Good,” Vika says, closing the door with a click that sounds almost indecent.
The apartment is lit with candles flickering on every surface, their light moving across the shadows. Meanwhile, classic R&B mixes with the smell of vanilla and cinnamon, surrounding us—the fragrance of the Thanksgiving desserts cooling on the counter.
Vika moves toward the kitchen. “I’ve prepared something special. And just in case you want to ask, yes, I know precisely how you like it.”
Spellbound, I ask, “Do you remember?”
Vika turns over her shoulder, a curve forming around her lips. “Of course I do.”
The simple promise causes my breath to catch.
Vika notices, scanning my face. “What?”
My voice is thick as I say, “Nothing.”
Knowing this, she raises one eyebrow. “Every time you say ‘nothing,’ you actually mean ‘everything’.”
My laughter arises as my nerves and desire become entwined within me.
Vika puts a warm mug into my hands, and our fingers touch—skin meeting skin with a sudden surge of heat. The music stops. Vika looks down at our hands, then up at me, her stare blazing.
She whispers, “I’m pleased you’ve come here.”
“I'm happy you asked me to come,” I tell her.
Vika moves a bit nearer, and the distance between us becomes electric.
“Good,” she says in a low voice. “Since I didn’t invite you for the turkey.”
My heart gives a jump. “So, what was the reason for your invitation?”
Vika smiles, her eyes bright with promise. “To taste something even sweeter.”
Vika’s fingers tighten around mine, drawing me closer until our bodies almost touch. Her breath is warm and sweet, spiced with cinnamon and anticipation. She leans in, her lips grazing my ear.
“I’ve been thinking about you all day,” she whispers, her voice low and hungry. “While the pies were in the oven. While I set the table. I wanted you.”
My pulse hammers. I set my mug on the counter, hands suddenly restless.
“You’re all I could think about, too,” I admit, my voice roughened by need. “Ever since you invited me.”
Vika’s smile is slow and wicked. “Good.”
She reaches up, brushing her lips along my jaw, then capturing my mouth with hers. Her kiss is deep, tasting of coffee and longing. I respond eagerly, hands sliding to her waist, feeling the heat of her skin beneath her camisole. She moans softly into my mouth, pressing her body against mine.
“Touch me,” Vika murmurs.
She guides my hands upward, under the thin fabric. Her skin is impossibly soft—warm and alive. I trace the line of her spine, eliciting another shiver. Vika’s hands find the hem of my shirt, tugging it up and over my head. Her nails drag along my chest as she takes in every inch. She leans back, eyes glazed with desire, and lets her fingers trail down my stomach.
“I want you, right here,” Vika says, voice trembling between command and plea.
I lift her onto the counter, feeling her legs wrap around me, drawing me in. She kisses me again, harder, her hips grinding against mine. The scents of Thanksgiving—vanilla, cinnamon, roasted butter—swirl around us, but all I taste is her lips.
“Don’t stop,” Vika gasps as I kiss down her neck, teeth grazing her skin.
My hands roam over her body, memorizing curves, tracing the delicate lines of her bra, the heat radiating from her. She reaches between us, unbuttoning her jeans with practiced need, urging my hands lower.
“I need you,” she breathes, her voice raw. “Now.”
I slide my hands beneath her jeans, feeling the heat and slickness of her desire. She arches into me, nails digging into my shoulders, her breath ragged. I press my forehead to hers, our eyes locking—hungry, desperate, grateful.
“Vika,” I whisper, “you’re perfect.”
She pulls me in, her kiss messy and urgent.
“Yes, I want you,” I say.
“Show me,” she demands, voice breaking. “Don’t hold back. Not tonight.”
The world narrows to the two of us—bodies tangled, breath mingling, the distant sound of timeless R&B music fading into the rhythm of our need. In Vika’s kitchen, surrounded by Thanksgiving’s bounty, we feast on each other—raw, honest, and utterly consumed.
Vika’s thighs tighten around my hips as she draws me closer to the edge of the counter, her breath hot against my ear. I slide my hands beneath her camisole, feeling the eager rise and fall of her chest, the soft swell of her breasts beneath my palms. She arches into my touch, moaning quietly, her lips finding my neck and marking me with her teeth.
Vika shrugs her camisole over her head, breasts bare in the golden candlelight, nipples pebbling under my touch. I circle them with my tongue, tasting the salt of her skin, the faintest hint of vanilla from the lotion she’d applied hours before. Vika’s hands tangle in my hair, pulling me closer.
“God, don’t stop,” Vika whispers, her voice trembling. “I want you so much.”
I sink to my knees, dragging her jeans and panties down her legs, kissing the inside of her thigh as I do. She gasps when my mouth finds her, her fingers gripping the counter behind her, head tipping back, eyes fluttering shut. I taste her, slow at first, savoring every slick, sweet response. She rocks her hips urgently, a pleading sound escaping her lips.
“Please,” Vika gasps. “I need you inside me.”
I rise, kissing her deeply, letting her taste herself on my lips. I unbuckle my jeans, her hands fumbling to help, frantic with need. She pulls me between her legs, guiding me to her entrance, and I slide into her with one slow, delicious thrust. Vika cries out, her arms wrapping around my neck, her breath catching as I fill her. We move together, bodies finding a rhythm that’s both desperate and tender. Her nails rake down my back, her thighs flexing as she pulls me deeper, urging me on.
Every sound—the clatter of a spoon left on the counter, the faint R&B music in the background, the creak of the kitchen cabinets—fades into the wet, urgent music of our bodies. I lose myself in her, in the way she gasps my name, in the way her body tightens around mine as she nears the edge.
“Look at me,” I whisper.
Vika does, her eyes wide and shining behind her glasses, cheeks flushed, lips parted.
“I’m so close,” she pants, her voice breaking.
I reach between us, circling my fingers over her clit, feeling her tremble and tense, her breath stuttering. She shatters around me with a shuddering cry, her body pulsing in waves of pleasure. The sight, the sound, the feel of her draws me over the edge with her, my own release crashing through me as I bury my face in her neck, tasting her sweat and the sweetness of her skin.
For a moment, we simply float, entwined and trembling, the world beyond us forgotten.
Cinnamon, coffee, and the warm scent of her desire linger in the air. Vika presses a lazy kiss to my lips, her smile soft and sated.
“Happy Thanksgiving,” she whispers, laughter trembling in her throat.
I grin, tracing a finger along her cheek.
“Best feast I’ve ever had,” I murmur.
Vika laughs, pulling me in for another, softer kiss as the night settles around us.
We linger in the golden kitchen light, breath mingling and skin pressed close. Vika slides off the counter, wrapping herself in my arms, her head tucked beneath my chin. The world beyond the apartment—cold, busy, indifferent—fades away, replaced by the quiet pulse of our shared heartbeat.
She looks up at me, her eyes soft behind slightly askew glasses. I brush a strand of hair from her cheek and kiss her gently, savoring the afterglow that hums between us.
Vika laughs, low and lazy. “You realize we never touched the turkey,” she says, teasing.
I grin, pressing my forehead to hers. “I was much hungrier for you.”
Vika nudges me toward the living room, pulls a blanket from the couch, and wraps us together.
We settle in, limbs tangled, the warmth of our bodies warding off the fall chill. The scents of cinnamon and roasted pie still drift through the air, but now, they’re mixed with something uniquely ours.
We whisper about old memories, secret dreams, and the silly things that never fail to make us laugh. Every so often, our words dissolve into a quiet, comfortable silence. I trace my hand along her bare back, and she sighs softly, nestling closer.
Eventually, Vika's breathing settles into a gentle rhythm, her head growing heavy against my chest. I hold her and feel a gratitude deeper than words, deeper than any feast or holiday tradition. This is more than a single night or a story we will tell someday. It is a beginning, a promise quietly taking root on Thanksgiving night.
I close my eyes and listen to her soft breathing, letting her warmth and the warmth of the world around us carry me into sleep.
