You say I look pretty under red lights

when your hands push open toilet stalls

with my back against the wall

I gasp under the feel of love bites

because in twenty years a compliment

has never held so much sentiment.

You say I look pretty under red lights

when your hands button up your shirt

before leaving to go find your dessert

I can’t satisfy you enough

because you can only stand to kiss me

before dismissing me.
