Adult Activity Book Entry Eight: The Mile High Club

I’m in the Mile High Club. Sex in unexpected places is erotic because the excitement increases adrenalin. This month - try something new, somewhere new!

A reflection question: Where is the craziest and/or sexiest place you have had sex?

The hottest place I have had sex, literally and figuratively, was a dry sauna in Denmark. I am telling you this not only because I am obviously voyeuristic but because I have a recommendation. If you are planning travel, as you look for a place to stay, think about what unique experiences the stays could provide. This could be sexual or not. I like to book a place with a log-burning fire, a hot tub, or some other amenity that will create time and space for intimacy and connection on our trips. Even when it’s a work trip, I plan a romantic restaurant or a memorable outing so that we set aside time and actual physical space for us. It’s important to create meaningful and lasting experiences with your chosen person. Experiencing new things together and activities you both enjoy strengthens your bond.

I asked some of my friends and acquaintances about the wildest places they have had sex. Here are a few of their answers:

Some of my friends said that museums really got them going. I hypothesize that museums denote leisure time to walk around and connect, so I wasn’t surprised that more than one person I talked to had gotten it on in a theatre or museum. There are also often large bathrooms in these buildings and opportunities to slip away. I recently heard about a couple having sex behind a theatre screen during a movie. I did find that alluring. Art and sex go well together.

Now, I don’t want to be judgmental but one of my friends did tell me she had sex in an Amtrak bathroom. That’s going to be a pass from me. I am assuming this was on some kind of long-haul trip, but who knows with her honestly. When you need it, you need it, I guess.

Trying something new, somewhere new isn’t about being outrageous, it’s about creating sexual chemistry in a creative, exciting, and unexpected way. This can be as simple as initiating sex in a spot in the home where you don’t unusually engage in sexual activity like the kitchen or the shower.

Steps to take:

  1. Connect in a new way. Book a trip or special experience that facilitates connection with a fresh take. Try a new restaurant, head to a cabin in the woods with a sauna, or even pack a simple picnic. Go to an art exhibit, see a movie, try a wine tasting. Do anything that is new together.

  2. Initiate sex in an unexplored or less explored physical space - maybe that’s the global sky or perhaps just the living room couch. Hop into the shower with your person or maybe get a bit handsy at the bar. Make them feel wanted everywhere, and at an unexpected time. If you always have sex in the evening, have sex in the morning. It’s the little gestures that build lasting love and intimacy.

Tonia Mansfield suggested, in one of her recent articles in Bare Back Magazine, to explore your sexuality outdoors. This is an accessible way to try physical connection in an exciting place. Take a private walk and spice things up with a blow job. I mean why not, the birds won’t be offended. Tonia says, “Take advantage of warmer weather by planning romantic picnics, walks, or even private moments in nature. The fresh air and natural surroundings can inspire new sensations and moods.”

And if you are looking for a little erotic treat on this topic, check out Jenny Smith’s short fiction,

The Mile High Club.” This short story will make you want to fly first-class to Paris, even on a red-eye. She got me saying bon voyage!

Have a sexy Friday night!

Rachel

Disclaimer: I cannot condone joining the mile high club and should note the following: Because of lewd conduct laws, engaging in sexual activity, even in the bathrooms of an airplane, can be found against the law and is against airlines conduct policies. You could be arrested and charged and/or banned from an airline if apprehended “in the act.”
